This piece was deeply inspired by Claude Monet’s water lily paintings, which I saw at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Later, during a stay at a cottage in Northern Ontario, I was surrounded by a serene lake covered with water lilies, and that experience stayed with me. The stillness of the water, the soft reflections, and the delicate blooms created a feeling of peace and quiet that I wanted to capture on canvas.
With its gentle colour palette, soft atmosphere, and richly textured surface, Silent Waters invites the viewer into a moment of calm — a place where time slows down and nature speaks in silence.
