Peaceful Waters is an original oil painting on a 36 × 36 inch (91 × 91 cm) gallery-wrapped canvas, stretched on a heavy-duty wooden frame.
This painting is part of my water lily series, inspired by the timeless beauty of Claude Monet’s water lilies and by my own unforgettable experience in Northern Ontario.
After seeing Monet’s paintings at the Art Gallery of Ontario, I fell in love with the atmosphere they created — the softness, the light, the reflections, and the incredible sense of peace. Just a few weeks later, I travelled to the Sudbury area in Northern Ontario, where we stayed in a cottage overlooking a quiet lake filled with blooming water lilies.
That place stayed with me. The stillness of the water, the reflections of the sky, the lilies floating on the surface, and the feeling of being completely surrounded by nature became the inspiration for this series.
While creating Peaceful Waters, I felt exactly what its name describes — peace, calm, and stillness. I wanted to capture that quiet moment when everything seems to slow down and there is nothing to do but simply be present and enjoy the beauty around you.
The painting is signed on the front and back. The sides are painted to complement the artwork, so it looks beautiful displayed without a frame. It comes with hanging hardware installed and is ready to hang.
