Rest For My Soul is part of my water lilies series, inspired by a season of deep admiration and quiet wonder.
This series began after I visited the Art Gallery of Ontario and saw Monet’s water lilies in person. Something about them touched me deeply. Shortly after that, my family and I spent time in Northern Ontario, near Sudbury, staying in a cottage right on a lake covered with water lilies. That place stayed with me.
The stillness of the water, the quiet beauty of the lilies, and the peaceful rhythm of nature left a deep mark on my heart. Since then, I keep returning to this theme again and again through my paintings.
This series is about calm, comfort, restoration, and silence — about those rare moments when you can pause, breathe, and simply be. Since moving to Canada, I’ve become especially aware of how quickly life moves. We are always rushing, always thinking ahead, always in motion. But places like that lake in Northern Ontario remind me that the soul also needs stillness.
With this painting, I wanted to preserve that feeling - a sense of peace you can come back to every day. A painting to live with, to pause with, and to rest with.
Size: 48 × 48 inches (122 × 122 cm)
