Daisies and Chicory
Original Oil Painting | 12 × 16 in (30 × 40 cm)
Original oil painting on stretched canvas.
I have always loved wildflowers, especially chicory. These beautiful blue flowers grow almost right in my backyard here in Ontario, and I see them nearly every evening. They always catch my eye and inspire me with their simple, natural beauty.
There is also something very personal about them for me. Chicory and other wildflowers remind me of the fields and roadsides back home in Ukraine. Seeing them here in Canada brings back warm memories and creates a beautiful connection between the place I came from and the place I now call home.
This painting was inspired by an Ontario summer and by those quiet everyday moments when nature makes you stop for a second and simply enjoy its beauty.
